IEEE Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society, the world’s largest, international biomedical society is pleased to announce the launch of its new gold fully open access journal: IEEE Open Journal of Engineering in Medicine and Biology (OJEMB)

IEEE EMBS, established in 1952, continues to provide more options and choices to support the work and needs of all authors and researchers — those who prefer to publish in traditional subscription journals or those who prefer or need to publish in open access.

IEEE EMBS will publish high-quality articles including cutting-edge studies and breakthroughs in technology innovation and will follow IEEE’s established high standard of peer review, drawing on expert technical communities to continue to publish the most highly cited content.

OJEMB will be hosted on the IEEE Xplore® platform, visited by over five million unique users per month. The Journal’s Field of interest includes the development and application of engineering concepts and methods to biology, medicine and health sciences to provide effective solutions to biological, medical and healthcare problems. Approaches may encompasses the development of mathematical theories, physical, biological and chemical principles, computational models and algorithms, devices and systems for clinical, industrial and educational applications.

The articles in this journal are peer reviewed in accordance with the requirements set forth in the IEEE Publication Services and Products Board Operations Manual. Each published article was reviewed by a minimum of two independent reviewers using a single-blind peer review process, where the identities of the reviewers are not known to the authors, but the reviewers know the identities of the authors. Articles will be screened for plagiarism before acceptance.

The new Journal will begin accepting submissions in the fall of 2019 and publish its first articles in early 2020. Papers can be submitted via ScholarOne Manuscripts.
